Kim Scott what a great article! I loved the idea of open Zoom office hours, this is going in the toolkit for sure.

I spent a long time on the table of the three types of managers, soaking it all in. Until now, I haven’t found something so clear and compelling in how it breaks down the middle path of thoughtful leadership.

It might not fit within the three definitions you laid out, but I always think of the balance of vulnerability and openness, too. On one extreme, a leader could be closed off and reserved, on the other extreme, a leader could be self-serving and self-interested. The beauty of the middle path is in being vulnerable and listening as a way of building trust and connecting with the team.
